Residents enjoy seaside sun and fun in Bournemouth
Over 100 residents swapped a dull and wet Brent for the sun and sand of Bournemouth on a special seaside trip organised by Brent Housing Partnership (BHP).
It was all sand castles and ice cream as they hit Bournemouth’s golden beaches and many residents thought they had hit the bingo, literally, as they played a few rounds on the coach trip down.
The trip which took place on Saturday 20 August is part of BHP’s summer activities which allow families and older people a subsidised fun day trip. Another seaside trip to Brighton has been arranged for September.
Resident Hodan Jama from South Kilburn (pictured left) said: "The trip was absolutely amazing. Great value for money and well worth it. The BHP officer that led our coach was very friendly and patient. The journey didn't feel as long because my children and I felt comfortable, they were given an activity sheet by the officer and the bingo game we played was enjoyable."
Dorette Pamela Briscoe-Williams from St. Raphael’s Estate in Neasden (pictured right) added: "I enjoy coming on the trips and think that they are a good thing. It's more than worth it to come."
Bola Obe, BHP Resident Engagement Officer, said: “It was a lovely trip and it was great to get some good weather. Many of our residents don’t get the chance to come to the seaside often and they had a really good time. It was also a great opportunity for BHP officers to meet residents in a relaxed and enjoyable setting”.
