Change of branding for Brent Housing Partnership owned properties
As you will be aware, the services of Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) came back in-house to Brent Council earlier this month. All housing management services are now provided by the in-house Housing Management Team.
The majority of properties managed by BHP belong to the council, but BHP does own some properties in its own right. With the transfer, these properties are still owned by BHP, but the council has made a decision to create a new brand. This will now be called First Wave Housing Limited, and continues to be fully owned by Brent Council.
What does this change mean in practice?
- This is a branding and name change only. Residents will see the First Wave Housing logo and name on any official landlord communication, such as rent and service charge letters and any legal notices to do with their tenancy or lease.
- There will be no change to the terms and conditions of the tenancy agreement or lease, and we will not re-issue the agreement with the new logo.
- Rent will be calculated in the same way as it is now, and will be subject to the same regulations and controls.
- There will be no change to the Housing Management Services that are provided by Brent Council.
We have written to residents to residents to inform them of the change. The main thing to remember is that this branding and name change is just that, and does not change any existing rights or responsibilities, or Brent Council’s responsibilities as the landlord or freeholder.
