Rents drop in

Brent Civic Centre drop-in

Brent Council runs a rents advice drop-in service at the Civic Centre where tenants can visit to see a specialist Income Management (Rents) Officer and discuss any queries relating to their rent account. This can include information on making re-payment arrangements, discussing any legal action that has commenced, paying online, tracing missing payments and general housing benefit and welfare benefit advice. If you would like an appointment please contact the Income Management Team.


This surgery is held daily from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.

Benefit advice

The Council also holds a welfare benefit drop-in surgery for tenants who have any queries relating to their welfare benefits or housing benefit. The Financial Inclusion Officer can help you maximise your income and has successfully improved the finances of several tenants that were not claiming all the benefits they were entitled to.

Citizens advice Brent

The Council offers a fast track referral service to Citizens Advice Brent where confidential appointments can be made for those tenants who feel that they would benefit from advice on money management, debt advice and counselling, housing benefit and welfare benefit issues.

Each appointment will last for one hour and tenants are advised to take proof of income and details of all outstanding debts with them. Please note this is not a drop-in service and you will not be seen without an appointment.
